    56 Years, That's All.

Yes - that's what I did, and it all came out colourful, but more of a blurry colour. Should have read up first! Or even come back in, had a look at what I had taken, and gone out again!

    Massive aurora alert for tonight!

Love the moon in that. Those lights are presumably Grange-over-Sands. Which is below! I wish I had read up a bit on how best to take photos though - I think my exposures were a bit too long, so it became a colour blur rather than those lovely streaks that many have got. I'll try again tonight!

    Wild Male Cuckoo

Somewhere near Tilberthwaite / Coniston? There seem to be quite a few there this year. Not that I can ever see them except for a blur which 'might' have been one flying past... Good capture.

What to put the new camera and lens in

That's what I keep telling the Domestic Manager! I currently have four shoulder bags, a waist bag and two rucksacks. Each of them has a use, depending on what I am doing!

    Beginner Magazines

Outdoor Photography - because it's not about techy 'how to' stuff, but has interviews and so on. I get mine as a 'birthday present' subscription. Which means it's free for me, and saves my Auntie having to think of something new, that I don't actually want, to give me every year.

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I only have the Sigma 18-50 (and A6600). I think it's excellent; compact, light and very good quality. Swapping to mirrorless, I did wonder about losing a couple of mm - but I don't seem to have missed it too much. But I also bought a pretty cheap Rokinon 12mm for the times when I do want...

    Siskin & Chaffinch dispute

I have spent hours/days trying to get a good photo of birds squabbling - but I have nothing like this.

So much choice , how do you pick

Ah yes - the other advantage of the A6700 over the A6600, a second (front) dial.

So much choice , how do you pick

I have a Sony A6600 and have no problems with it - it's a good all-rounder, lightweight and easy to use. The A6700 is meant to be slightly better, with an improved menu and tracking. The 18-135 will compromise a bit on quality. I bought the Sigma 18-50 and have been extremely impressed with...
