    Do I Need Specialist Insurance?

I pay £80 a year extra to insure items over £1,000. That covers it anywhere in the world and includes accidental damage though. As other people have pointed out, that wouldn't cover you for business use though.

    Wildlife Photographer of the Year

I'm not a big fan of the winner, but some of the runners up are inspiring.

    Camera Clubs

I agree, committees great for a healthy club, but when you're low on numbers, sometimes you need to get stuff done. If you do have a committee, you need to make sure it turns over fairly regularly (every couple of years) to keep things fresh and new ideas flowing in.

    Silhouted stag

Superb shot! Cloning seems to have worked very well too.

    Beach photos photo bag

The one thing I wish I had when I go to the beech is a macro lens. You get loads of tiny creatures that make for fun photo opportunities.

How do you choose to display to your work?

I like putting them on a tablet. That way I have something I can hand round when people want to see my photos, but with the advantage that I can easy add more without having to get them printed. That said, when I do order prints, Photo Box usually have them at my door within 36 hours.

    Photographic speakers

I think the Royal Photographic Society regularly host lectures, so you could try speaking to them and seeing if they have a network of contacts you could ask.

    Hosting on your own website

You could use WordPress.com. They host everything, all you need to do is add a photo blog theme and you're good to go. Doesn't allow you as much customisation, but it is very easy to get up and running.

    Guardians of Caerphilly Castle

Wonderful shots. How close did you get to take these?

Cabin Luggage friendly Tripod - Suggestions please

Easyjet have two separate limits. They have the regular cabin cabbage size, then they have a "guaranteed to travel with you" size, which is smaller. But if you're over that size, all it means is that if the flight is really busy, they will make you check it into the hold (for free). So it's not...

How long before house prices increase by 20%

The BBC has quite a good tool on breaking down high price increases per region. Doesn't offer predictions, but it gives you a good indication. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/in_depth/uk_house_prices/html/houses.stm

Cabin Luggage friendly Tripod - Suggestions please

I took my tripod as hand luggage on an Easyjet flight and nobody complained. I had to take the head off and put that in my bag to get it within the cabin baggage allowance though. Even then, it was too big of their "guaranteed to travel with you" size but I've heard they rarely if ever enforce...

Second shooter at a wedding - what is their role/brief?

Another nice advantage is that if they're working together they can set their flash units up as master/slave for the shots where you want to light a bigger area (group shots, etc).

    Stars

I tried shooting the stars/night sky while in the middle of nowhere but I couldn't get them to show up with an exposure time of anything less than 2 minutes. By that time they had moved, so I got slight trails in my photos. Is that just inevitable given the lack of light available?

    Photography in the rain...

I've got a rain cover, and it does a great job of keeping the camera dry. But it isn't perfect. Firstly, they're just clumsy. Unless you're going to get one made specifically for your camera/lens, it's going to be generic which means you'll have too much material folding up in front of you...
