    Advice needed! Camera Lens

As people have said, gofer a flash, but make sure you know how to use it to get best results and consider a small softbox as well as it might not be possible to bounce the flash in that environment.

    Beginner New York Photography

Definitely take, and use, both. You'll want the 50mm the prime for night shots. When i went to New York, i didn't have my own SLR at the time and borrowed a friends 300D with an 18-55mm. The 18-55mm was fine, you definitely need the 18mm to capture the huge scale of everything. If I were you...

Beginner First DSLR...Is used a good idea?

Have you looked into shooting with a prime? It can be a different shooting style than using a zoom for some uses. For example street photography, you have to zoom with your feet, so you may find that you miss shots or they aren't framed right if your not light on your feet and see the shots...

    Projector for wedding reception

As psenior said, you are looking for something with a short throw, or if your budget can stretch, an ultra short throw. Where I used to work, we had some from SMART that could project on a 58" board from about a metre away and at a dramatic angle, so the projector can be hidden away bellow the...

First timer with RAW on a MAC with iphoto - Help please

I agree with this, I share a a common library between iPhoto and Aperture. I tend to import from the camera into iPhoto, then use iPhoto to scan through the images and 'deadhead' the bad ones because I find iPhoto is quicker for sifting through images, Aperture sometimes takes a few seconds to...

    Some car stuff

I find the open shutter, with the other car and some daylight showing through, in No1 a little distracting. Other than that, they are excellent.

    Hardest wedding ceremony ever!!

Yes happily, when you are advising someone of what you would personally do in a situation you have not yourself faced, it is quite common to give advice as thought you where in their position assuming their role. Does that cover it? As someone who deals with difficult people all day, I find...
