Great shot! What did you look for on the map to find it? (obviously single trees aren't on OS maps). I would like to do some single tree shots myself, but I have your initial problem of driving and walking round aimlessly becomes tiring.

Excellent - thanks for the response. I assume the 17-50 was wide enough then to capture all of them tall buildings?. I'm contemplating a cheap fish eye or a 10-20mm, but that seems a little close to my 18-35 that I already have.

Good evening all, What do people normally do with logos, it's easy when the photo is the maximum size, but what about when it's cropped, how do you judge what dimensions? is it an educated guess (ie whatever looks roughly the right size) or is there some science to it? thanks James

great advice werecow, I think I'll stay clear and save my pennies for something better. Thank you so much to everyone who took time to respond, my knowledge of cameras and the different models is lacking, so your input has helped me loads.

I've found out and it's the 1d not the 1Ds :(. But by the sounds of it I might be better to buy it as a replacement for my 550d, especially for Motorsport photography. What is the est. shutter life on a 1D?
