    Advice for a motorised tracker mount with R5 + 500mm F4

Thank you for this information and experience, Minimaltoo. I am now looking at the Sky-Watcher EQ6 PRO SkyScan GOTO Extra Heavy Duty Equatorial Mount and Tripod. Of course, that's £1500 and I could get a Celestron Nexstar 8" for the same money and it would be infinitely easier to use and travel...

    Advice for a motorised tracker mount with R5 + 500mm F4

Thank you very much for you advice, Jannyfox. I appreciate you taking the time to reply. My total rig weight is circa 4.6KG if I drop the battery grip, this is just under most rigs' 5KG maximum payload. Yes, it's mainly for the planets and the moon and some deep sky objects to introduce the...

    Advice for a motorised tracker mount with R5 + 500mm F4

Hi there, I was just looking at buying a half decent telescope to show my young kids the planets and stars in more detail, but realised that we'd probably be far better off using the money on a motorised tracking head to take my Canon R5 and 500mm F4 (MK1 - 4KG) with a Mk3 2xTC and the 1.6...

I've been using BreezeBrowser Pro for the past decade - it's simplicity and speed make it superb for windows users. (I am not affiliated with them nor do I have anything to do with the company.)

    Gimbal for Canon 500mm f4L

I bought it for my 500 f4 after seeing it here, but it cost a lot more than that! Worth every penny.

I just had an email from Canon declining my claim for the EF-RF adapter after buying an R5 from e-infinity. Annoying! Oh well. 'Thank you very much for sending us your application for the CPS EOS R REWARD OFFER. We have been working on your claim, but unfortunately we can’t complete it. The...

    Canon EOS R Series Cameras

I got my R5 from e-infinity 5 days after ordering. It may be 3 years late and maybe not quite the build quality I was hoping for, but it's totally worth it when you see the image quality and experince the handling. Coming from a 5d3 and 1DX it's almost as profound a change as it was going from...

Canon 5D MkIV specs wish list.

Mainly becuase the LP-E4 batteries last so much longer, provide a higher voltage and last over a longer lifespan, in my exprience. Another big point is being able to not travel with two seperate charging systems which takes up valuble space when flying about the place.

When I say crop - It's a full frame camera with the ability to select a crop option, lowering the MP but giving more effective focal length. Like the D750 in 'crop mode'. This makes the camera so much more flexible. As for cards, adding an SD seems to slow the Canons down significantly, but I...

It is true that you can find SD cards just about everywhere, whereas CF cards ar hard to find quickly - unless you like slapping 'Mug me' on your back and walking into a branch of Dixons or Maplins. I've never had any issues with bent pins but I have has issues with expensive SD cards falling...

Canon 5D MkIV specs wish list.

Hi Rich, I'm not sure on the HDR feature, but it sounds about right. I'm sure a few compacts had this beforehand but the Mk3 was probably the first Canon SLR to do this. I've found the HDR to be very last resort and usually use manual bracketing instead. The only issue I can see with Canon...

Really 4K video? The 5D is a photographers' camera first and foremost, surely the video side of things will be kept well muted on this range to keep Canon's 'interesting' marketing strategy intact ;)

That is a wonderful suggestion. I'm actually amazed that there's no 3rd party grip offering this already.

OK, so after a suggestion from 'Lost' we thought we'd put our thoughts towards what I hope will be included in the 5DMK4. Personally, I have been delighted with the 5D3 for every use other that action, in which case i'd rather use a potato. Again, personally I've found the AI Servo hit rate to...
