Ok, so as I have been having a look at everyone else's photos and putting in mFields by JayEssKay, on Flickry unqualified penny's worth, I thought I should post one in return.
I actually think I prefer no.1 in colour but if we liked the same things the world would be so boring. That just goes to show there is no right or wrong in photography, just personal preferences. I think they are both great shots by the way.
Thanks for the tips, unfortunately there isn't always enough room for a tripod as in this case. I was squeezed between a fence and a row of parked cars on a narrow verge so I couldn't even get a different vantage point. Focal points are definitely something I have to practice in landscapes...
I like the muted colours in no.2. For me personally there is too much going on in no.1 to make it effective as a black and white - do you have it in colour?
