I've just bought a Kenko KE-MCP1DXC DGX 1.4x Pro300 converter for use with my 7D Mk2 and Canon 70-300 f4-5.6L lens and it over-exposes by about 1 stop.
Is this normal? Do I have to set the camera to -1 stop when using the converter? Not the end of the world I suppose, but a bit annoying. :(...
I'm still in the testing phase, but I'm very impressed with everything about this lens. The build quality is immaculate and the speed and accuracy of the auto-focus is quite magical.
The butterfly shot is nothing special, but I was just testing how close the lens would focus and this is about...
Well, I finally gave way to temptation. Ordered the lens from Panamoz last Friday and it's just arrived - what service!
Hopefully I'll post a few shots taken with it on my 7D Mk2, once I've got some images worth posting. :)
Thanks for the response and some more great pics Joe. I might just order a 70-300mm L from Panamoz, they're going for £755 at the moment - pretty good! ;)
Great set of shots Joe - I'm seriously considering the 70-300mm L to go with my 7D Mk2. How are you finding it in general? I'm currently using the non-L version and it's pretty good, but just a little soft wide open, particularly at the 300mm end.
One of your selection is taken from the quayside...
I too have never had a telephone reply from them.
Does anyone out there have any experience of returning equipment to Panamoz?
I'm hoping that my new EOS7D Mk2 will be fine, but it would be reassuring to know that Panamoz will respond if there are any problems.
To be realistic, the price difference is pretty massive!
Disregarding the grey market for now, the current prices on Camera Price Buster are: EOS1DX = £4449, EOS7DMk2 = £1428.
That's a difference of £3021 !! .... you would expect the 1DX to be a little bit better surely?
Until I win the lottery...
I have mentioned Simply Electronics in another thread. My experience with them was simply appalling. I had to wait two months for a refund on a 50mm f1.4 lens that they couldn't supply, despite advertising it as being in stock and instantly debiting my credit card.
This was a couple of years ago...
I received my 7D Mk2 from Panamoz within a week and everything looks fine. I've only shot a few shots since receiving it, mostly under low light conditions at 3200 ISO and it's definitely an improvement in noise compared to the Mk 1. Happy so far! :)
