Working for Agencies - making my first step, advice please

Heat haze. Horrible stuff. If you can get high and shoot "down" at the action, like in a stand or on the embankment. and/or shoot with the sun behind you. These will help lessen the effect of heat haze, but will be still present. It can come and go, one picture sharp the next soft. 3g on a hot...

minimum equipment requirement for EFL games.

Yer true. But Nikon have upgraded most of the other "pro" type lens. 600, 500, 400, 70-200, 24-70 except the 300. So maybe the 120-300 is the replacement 300. And the 300 direct replacement, if it comes, will be z mount?? The 120-300 being the last f mount "big' lens. Who knows.

Photomechanic 6 - will you upgrade?

Slower, as in preview mode, going though images to select. Slow like LR. There does seem to be a few people with slowness on the camera bits forum. Esp. apple mojave. I'm windows 10. So hopefully it gets sort soon. I have gone though about 5000 images in past 3 days, and have gone back to PM5.

Photomechanic 6 - will you upgrade?

Yes the upgrade was seamless. All my settings in v5 come though in v6. And the same layout, which is great. (I hate we software layout is change for no good reason) To me, and i am not a PM expert by an means, the culling/scrolling through the jpegs seems the same, but then in v5, it is still...

    Low light indoor basketball photography

Full frame is the way to go for indoor poorly lit Basketball courts. You can probably get a good low milage second hand Nikon d4/ds4, and for a single lens get a 24-70 f2.8 (second hand) for that money. A 70-200 is also a good option more flexibility (for basketball and other sports) but if...

    Sport and the sunshine

I here ya, I here ya. Bright sun, add in some heat haze. If i can backlite, then i will, but sometimes with the backgrounds doesn't work so well. But least the sun in the UK is somewhat "diffuse". Compared to here in NZ, where the sun can be vary harsh. Talking with a couple of Uk shooters...

    Photo mechanic

Ha, bit of a understatement there. By the time you import 1000 images/built standard previews/cull edit with LR, In PM with LR to edit, you have finished work, driven home, cooked tea, put the washing out, painted the house.....
