LONDON 2012 - CAMERAS, BAGS, RESTRICTIONS, ETC - PLEASE POST HERE

Security didn't seem to have a problem at all yesterday at the Olympic park - they just seemed to want to get people through as quickly as possible - took 2 bodies, 70-200, 10-20 and a 50mm. Actually they were more interested in my suntan cream than anything else. Actually hats off to the...

Going Nikon Full Frame - 10-20 replacement

Morning all, finally decided to move up to full frame after nearly 3 1/2 years of use of my D300. I pretty much use my Sigma 10-20 all the time on it, so the question is what's the best alternative full frame. I need to be able to mount filters on it, so I think that rules out the 14-24...

    Question on Exposure

Hi there, thanks for all of the responses. It was changing light. the shot was of a white bridge crossing the sea at Zeeland in Holland. The ND0.9 was to over exposure the sea slightly to create the long exposure milky effect. I'd metered for the sky all in full manual mode. But I hadn't...

    Question on Exposure

Yes we were both shooting RAW, I hadn't considered that. So during post processing pretty much anything could have been achieved

    Question on Exposure

I was out taking shots a little while ago with another photographer. Standing next to each other and taking the same subject at the same time we have vastly different results in terms of exposure. Comparing my unprocessed shot and their processed shot - there's looks bright, mines dull and...

    Photography on the Underground

Yep I'm with Matt here - did quite a bit last year, didn't get a permit, but moved around all the time, didn't bring too much attention to myself either. Try it and if you get stopped then apply for the permit - you might be able to save yourself £35 - oh and be able to post on the internet !!!

    Hong Kong

Enjoy Hog Kong - its a fabulous place. I have lived there for about 6 months on and off over the last couple of years and have never had any problems photographing anything whatsoever. Its brilliant and such a breath of fresh air. You wont be alone everyone of my collegues out there were...

Composing in difficult positions - tethering?

Just wondered how you all compose your shots when space or positioning doesn't allow you to see the view finder? A shot I needed to take at the weekend saw me placing the camera in a corner of a room, low down and as close to the wall as possible. My normal technique is just shoot as wide as I...

    Long Exposure Shots

Nice shots, no 3 the best for me. The first 2 are ok, but there needs to be more cloud and more cloud movement - imho anyway

Anyone ever purchased Student Edition of Software

Yep I did a 10 week OU T189 course for which I got a student enrolment letter - that was enough to get student discount on both CS3 and Lightroom - quite a saving as I remember. Just sent a copy of the letter off and that was enough.

    Online Photography course

How about the OU T189 course - its 10 weeks long - fairly cheap especially if you use tecso clubcard vouchers and is pretty ok as long as you're not too much of a pro. I know quite a lot of people on here have been through it. Do a search on T189, or have a look on Flickr for T189 groups

    First attempts at people

Morning all, thanks for the comments. I'll do some more work on the first ones face, I'm sure the shadow is more predominant in my mono conversion than it was on the original. As for my process, its pretty much the same for all my photos, import into Lightroom, crop if needed, remove dust...
