Fright of my life and a warning for the future

I spoke to a few home insurance companies when renewing last year and when I mentioned having individual items worth £3000+ none of them were interested in insuring them.

CF Card has become corrupt can anyone help me get the images??

I have used http://www.cardrecovery.com/ in a similar situation with some success. You have to pay for the software but you can try it before you purchase.

    canon uk repairs

I have had a couple of repairs done by them and found they are not good at keeping you up to date, I needed a part for a lens that was not in stock and was going to take 4 weeks to come in, I only found this out when I rang after 2 weeks to ask where the lens was.

I've seen a Kingfisher, advice please.

my experience of watching a kingfisher in a local park is that they do return the same branches especially if it is a good place to fish

    What would you advise.

If you are photographing during the ceremony I would check what you are allowed to do, I recently photographed during the ceremony and the conditions were no flash and I had to stand at the back and not move around, I was allowed to use a tripod which helped with the light levels.

Anyone know Rutland Water well enough to give some info?

There is a nest in Manton bay see http://www.ospreys.org.uk/, you should be able to see the nest from either the Lyndon or possible the Egleton reserves. A map of the reserve is availabe here http://www.rutlandwater.org.uk/about-the-reserve/map-of-the-reserve/

Would you lend your gear to a friend

I have been lent equipment by friends and have loaned then equipment back in return. A great way to try before buying. If I am with a group I don't mind people trying a lens as long as I am there to see what is happening.
