I think pyrocat oxidises very quickly so wouldn't store once mixed. Like all one shot developers its probably got more than one film worth of magic in it but you introduce another variable and its probably not worth the risk.
That's a lot of money especially given its not a purchase it's a backing and you will no longer have the money but you might not have the product. Its one thing sinking £200 on a promise, £1000 is bigger commitment.
Not sure if anyone has seen this but there is a kick starter for an afgan box camera kit going at the moment. I'm quite tempted!

The dark room cook book is worth a read if you're wanting mix chems from scratch. D23 is simple to make and the chemicals are pretty obtainable. I've made up a soup called obsidian aqua before too, it was a nice developer and the chemicals weren't hard to get either.
I've been pestering @stevelmx5 to make me one since he sold me a chroma. :)
I've seen a thing on aliexpress which basically replaces the back, moving teh whole assembly back a couple of cm, it has a gg you replace with a 6x17 roll film holder, but it's really quite expensive.
Things like the xpan and the horizon? Or the cheap panoramic fixed 35mm jobs?
The cheap fixed nasty things are just a mask on the top and bottom.
The better machines will give you the aspect ratio the height is the same so the width is calculated easily enough.
