    CPanel hosting with webmail

You might need to setup your mail client, I know that Outlook has options for IMAP to not save sent items / save sent items in a specific folder on the server / save sent items locally which you can set in the mail options in the control panel (under more settings). If you use email on your...

New Lightroom PC - my experience

I've replaced 3 PCs at work recently, 2 with FX6100s and 1 with FX6300. One of them is for admin (but I also run Hyper V in the background) and the others are for production in different departments. They're nowhere near as fast as the i7s I've bought over the past couple of years, but they're...

Weird thing happening with windows 7

Have you tried running the system file checker? If not, from a command prompt "sfc /scannow". It's worth a shot.

    Mac or Windows??

I also use Macs and PCs at work, for both graphic design and photographic work. I used a Mac when the Macs had a higher spec, I'm back to PCs mostly now that they've been upgraded to i7s. Macs look really good, PCs are more cost effective but neither is "better" for photography. If you look for...

    Lightroom 3 Catalogue sharing help!

I did this at work until recently. The catalogue is actually stored locally and a copy is uploaded to the dropbox server so you're only ever writing to the local file - there's no more chance of it corrupting than it being in a regular folder. I believe Dropbox uses a lan sync so although it...

What about Gallery3? You can password protect galleries, add a shopping basket, watermarks, things like that.

    wedding photography help!!

I find it strange that the outdoor ones could have been "burnt out" by other people with a little fill flash. I'd agree legal advice is the way forward.

    Rechargeable Ni-Mh Batteries - AA Cell Size (2900mAh) - £19.95

I think that depends how recently they've been topped up as Eneloop or 7 day shop's equivalent "Good to Go" batteries are designed to hold their charge a lot longer so potentially the 2900mAh could have lost more charge than the 2100mAh!

    cheapish ettl gun for canon

Since you'll be shooting outdoors, HSS would be worth having.

    Batch noise reduction in Lr3

Or select all the photos you want, hold down Alt and turn on autosync. Deselect, select the others and autosync should still be enabled.

    Selective colouring, nay or yeah?

I think it makes it look like it's been cut out and pasted on - what's the original like for comparison?

    O2 Answerphone (sucks)

I can highly recommend O2 customer service, I've always found them great to deal with - unfortunately I live right between Edinburgh and Newcastle, literally right on the A1 and 3G is non-existent. 15 minutes inland, in the middle of the countryside there seems to be EDGE coverage, go figure!

    Portable backdrops

I've got a Lastolite at work which was about £190 when bought last year. I'd recommend it but it's quite a bit more than the ebay ones you've been looking at! http://www.warehouseexpress.com/buy-lastolite-black-white-background-with-detachable-train/p12722
