    Concave diffuser test shots

I saw your histogram on flickr, so I had to pop over and see what it was about. Are you able to control the power of the flash heads separately so that you can create a lighting ratio? Have you considered lighting the background and the subject separately?

    A photo of the Mrs

    Great captures!

    One of those shots !

Andrew, since a couple of posters have commented about halos, I was wondering how these shots come out in print? Does the printing process tone down the halo, much like what happens with noise? To me what the print looks like is what really matters. I think your shot is lovely and right in...

    Anyone watching Hannibal?

It took me a couple of shows to get into True Detective because it jumped around a bit from past to present. It was worth it in the end.

    Anyone watching Hannibal?

It's one of the few good series on television that I actually take the time to PVR and the bonus is it's filmed in Canada - not too far from where I live. I have a 23 year old film grip/gaffer son living in one of my bedrooms, so the more Canadian productions, the more chance he'll get work and...

    Graduation?

That's the way it should be done. It's fun for the kids and I think it's good for the ones who aren't used to being in front of an audience. It helps build self confidence. The only issue I have with it (yes, sadly popular U.S. Trends affect us too) is that it is done in the middle of a work...

    First Time Wedding Photohgraphy

I accessed your gallery through Swissy's link, but had trouble viewing the slides on my ipad as the next button is covered by the slides. The previous button worked just fine though. In any event I had a look at the shots on your flickr. When I click on the link you posted I get "page not...

    First Time Wedding Photohgraphy

I'll preface my comments by saying I'm a hobbyist and I rarely shoot people, so please take them with a grain of salt. What really matters is whether the bride and groom like the photos. Kudos for dealing with the weather...it looked like it was dreary and windy. I think you have some nice...

Day out with Lily and her grandparents

No. 6 is just so darn cute! Lovely shot. No one has commented on No. 5 yet, so here goes. I think this a great shot, though I would crop it on the left hand side at his shoulder - getting rid of the head behind him and cloning out anything remaining in the background so it goes to black. This...

    Water Voles

These are great Martin. I love them! So cute. Are these little guys destructive or rather benign like ground hogs?
