    Fatso having a pedicure!

Thanks, but these weren't really for critique, I was just sharing the horse ;)

The softness of a horses eye is enough to warm even the coldest of hearts...

Looks like you've managed to avoid my normal problem when photographing horses' eyes - getting my own reflection in the image!

    Fatso having a pedicure!

Here's my fat boy getting his nails done by the farrier a couple of days ago:

How About A Gob Shot Thread

Well they are related. They are odd-toed ungulates, perissodactyla, like horses.

    Horse

Horses have the biggest eyes of any land animal. There's an interesting fact for you! Also, they are partially colourblind, lacking the receptor for red wavelength, meaning they see the world in shades of blue, green and yellow. They can use both monoscopic and stereoscopic vision and can see...

How About A Gob Shot Thread

Oh, go on then: Not sure the first two really count, but I like them. Harry Drink This was taken on my old compact so the quality is not great. Harry Yawning (again)

    Trip to the farm

Love the first one with the water captured in mid air. Very nice.

    My favourite subject: Equines!

I think they're lovely. The third one down is beautiful and crisp (and the pretty girl helps!). Sadly no one on here seems to be interested in horses :( I've posted a couple of horse photos and no one seems to comment on them, but post a picture of a manky cat and you'll be inundated with comments!

My new Pup - English Springer Spaniel

These made me smile. What great photos! And what a smashing looking dog!

Harry the horse has a roll after his ride

There's a whole sequence of these on Flickr, I've just linked to the best few. I'm not looking for critique on these as I had the camera on a high ISO by mistake so they're not great, but they're quite fun so I thought I'd share.

The hairy cob in the photos is Harry, he's mine :)

    Flickr?

Here's me... expect lots of photos of horses, people on horses, horses grazing, horses standing, horses running... you get the idea ;) http://www.flickr.com/photos/yottskry/

Recommend me a photo editor programme

With GEGL it supports more than 8bit and all version from 3.0 onwards will support more than 8 bit. Krita, which has most of the features of GIMP, already supports more than 8 bit. http://krita.org/download
