I'm a member of our local photo club, and our latest project is panoramas. Can anyone suggest good places to go around the Greater Manchester area?

Thanks

Pete

Depends where you are in Greater Manchester and how far you're prepared to travel.

Salford Quays springs to mind, but I suspect everyone else will be heading there.

How about something different, say in Manchester city centre, maybe a 360 of the platforms of Picadilly station? Or a vertical panorama of Beethams tower? Or the Etihad stadium?

Everyone will think of a city panorama why not go out into the country.

Thanks for replies so far guys, interesting ideas viewfrom, I live in Eccles, from my point of view, you're right about the Quays. Robj, you're right, it's why I put "Greater" rather than just Manchester. Any part of the M60 is no further than 1/2 an hour from where I live, then another 1/2 hour, covers a hell of a lot.

My favourite spots are Worsley, around the woods and canal there are some great locations. Rivington as well, plenty to photograph up there.

Hartshead Pike is probably a good candidate, Werneth Low as well.

If you did go Werneth Low you could always stop at Etherow Country Park as well which will give you lots of shooting options.

Some great ideas here, think I'll do Rivington for my club project, but lots of ideas for the future, many thanks guys.
