Yes
Can anyone point me in the right direction for info on this. I have the 'All in one SEO' thing and I've put my key words in. What's the next step to getting up the google listings?!

Is it a bad thing that I have 2 url's leading to the same site? Also, I have only applied the SEO to my products page so far, and it's not really finished yet just in case you search it!

It is regarded as a bad thing, yes. Google will regard it as duplicate content. It's better to use a 301 redirect with your non-canonical domain name which says "page has permanently moved from A to B"

There are two elements to SEO, your on-page and off-page work.
You might find it useful to learn a bit about it and then come up with a rough plan. The structure of your site and the relationships between pages are very important. One mistake people make is tagging pages with any term that's vaguely relevant. This is counter productive.
You also need to make sure that people who click on a link to your site from Google's search results spend some time on your site. A high bounce rate is fatal.

Do the on-page SEO first, then start working to generate some good quality back links. (And it really is quality, not quantity).
Prioritise and get a few pages working well before you move onto the rest.

Blogging and guest blogging are very powerful tools.

Third-party tools can be quite useful in tracking your websites performance. You will soon learn if an action you have taken has had a detrimental effect.
Don't pay the earth for one though, there are useful tools available quite cheaply.

There's lots to learn, none of it is very complicated. I just know (from experience) it's very easy to do yourself over with a simple mistake and that can mean a lot of unknitting later on.
I would recommend buying a recent book from someone well regarded in the field.

And do your keyword research first. Go for long tail keywords first, then build up to more competitive ones when you build your traffic up.

Just a thought. My website is hosted in the UK, through 1 and 1. I'm now living in Australia, will that have an effect on if it comes up in searches in Australia?!

Good post by Daniel.

To add, as he said, the onpage stuff is basic, like configuring your site properly and the offpage stuff is really where it's at and the hard bit.
A good editorial link to your website from a respected authority is worth 100s of forum sig links.
A lot of people get carried away with the onpage stuff and don't make effort on the offpage stuff because onpage is so much easier.
Hard, but I'd recommend 50/50.
