This isn't the closest the $50 to $75 Tokina AF 100-300mm f/5.6~6.7 gets.
But it's sharp enough that I can crop it WAY down.
And even at 100% crop it's still looking pretty good. Previous version in black too!
I have both versions. IQ seems to be identical between the two. These images were shot with the black one hand held on the GH1 µ4/3 camera. They're both fairly easy to manual focus - as AF zooms go. Either one is as light or lighter in weight than the Lumix 100-300 and the IQ is better on the Tokina than the Lumix as well - as you can see for yourself here. This would be great with the OM-D's IBIS (5 axis stabilization) if you're not married to the concept of auto-focusing. It's actually the opposite for me - my mistress is Manual Focus!
