lot of space there Kyle, so much so the eye is wondering what the subject is
the pier is interesting but takes so little of the frame
an object in the opposite...rh...third could have saved this
Feeling along the same path as Geof, however I would prefer the composition with nothing in the RH side as you have done, but having the pier taking up a larger portion of the LH side (not quite half way)
Slightly more pier maybe but not much. I think this is pretty good as is. I like the subtleness of the line between sea and sky...mm maybe a mono conversion?
Good work.
Kyle, this is right up my street, a lovely image with a very subtle processing style and overall approach. I like the way the horizon line is slightly more distinct on the fat side from the pier, with just enough detail and distinction in the banding in the sea and sky to hold interest.
The strong verticals in the lights on the pier compliment the rest of the highly geometric shapes. The colour palette is great and having tried it I'm not sure a mono brings anything else to the piece
