Critique a british zippo

Like the subject matter, but would have preferred it to be on a smooth surface, the wood leads the eye away from the Zippo (imo).
 
I personally like the rough surface which compliments the roughness of the lighter and the perceived image of the bulldog, however I think the fence on the right is a little distracting
