A good friend of mine called…

— Listen, our family doctor called me to tell me about the con-
dition of my older sister. "She will need lots of support from the
family as there is not much time ahead…" the doctor said.

I would like you to take a last portrait as she is now, with her dog,
before… and she should believe it is a gift for her birthday to the
rest of the family. My preference would be less a studio type of
shot but more a casual picture… with her dog." —

That's lovely Kodiak you've captured love and affection in that one shot. (y)

Thanks Andy, it was not easy because she has mood changes
from a moment to another… the dog was sweet and easy going.

"Spot on" implementation of brief, with lovely rich warm lighting(y)

Cheers Terry… I'm not expert in this but it maybe a BT? :(
That could explain a few things.

Thanks doggel, :) it was, indeed, a delicate assignment!

You made a happy ending for a sad story!! (y)

Thank you Gil!

Well that's all, really, I can do for this very nice buch of people.
If it reflects the way they want to remember her, I'm happy!

Wonderful photograph and a fabulous gesture

I'm sure they will all appreciate it. Difficult brief.

Yes, it's like doing something without the model
having the knowledge of what's going on. Thanks.

And it sure looks like her pup senses what's going on. Excellent job.

I heard about pets feeling when someone is not right!
I didn't experience it myself though. Thanks Chuck! :)

This is possibly the kind of situation
one can only trust a friend with. TY!

Nicely done. I might tone that blue cushion (?) down a bit in the bg.

I've been playing with that and the result gives the feeling
of a mishaps in the BG. I decided to tame down the divan
she was sitting on but not too much, thanks Kris!

You've done very well with this beautiful image @Kodiak Qc

You should be proud of your efforts, as I'm sure they will be proud to receive this lovely gift and memory

TY Ian. :D

When I delivered the picture, as he was not home, his wife
was at the door. She had wet eyes seeing it and smacked
me a sweet kiss right there… boom, under my right eye. :)

Your most important - and most successful - work to date, I think.

Lovely but... if from the details we are led to believe the lovely subject is unaware of terminal nature of her condition, perhaps hold back from sharing on internet until after (unless you have already done so).

Furtim

Right, very sensible remark.
There is no worry there for many reasons… including
that the brother is most happy that this could be the
last picture and not some other that would not res-
pect his wish. Thanks David.

Fits the brief perfectly, one that will make the lady happy and will bring back lovely memories to her family.

Poignant ... wonderful eyes on both subjects, the lady portraying happiness, then there’s the loyal dog, with that doe eyed sadness gaze into space. Inimitable.
