canon 1d mkiv with a canon 300mm F4 ,shot at 7.1 iso 400 1/400sec +1/3 ev at around 8.30amgreat except.... no meta data so us poor learners can get a glimpse what you were using

Bang on...just missed the bird going out of the frame,i post the good with the badJudging by the image it isn't cropped at all, just sharpened to try and bring the shot back as it looks like it just missed the focus.
Shame about the wing blocking the face but can't be helped
Thanks Adam,i am enjoying my time with the birds just as much as I did all those years ago when I first had my encounter with them...More great owl shots Den never get tired of seeing them and as for the good and bad shots many on here including me can only hope for images as good as your "bad" one

That's why I didn't bin it,i missed the focus on the eye and hit the bird around it claw ,to me I got away with it,i know its not the best but it still tells a storyI like this shot,the way just the one half eye just above the wing
