Getting out with the camera to try new things, I heard about the A380 turning up at Manchester for the first time last night and decided to pop round, original plan was drive out there about 11ish plane landing at 12:25. Prebooked car parking last night and heard on the radio this morning it was busy at 8:30am so got up, showered and off we went arrived at about 9:30.

Anyway had a bit of work to do while there phone calls etc so shooting was limited but got a few.

Airbus A300 Beluga flew overhead as we waited.

The A380 finally turned up (on time)

A380 on its way in, just as the old big bird passed the viewing area and got in the way.

Due to the 474 no chance of getting the rear wheels touch down but I did get the front wheels smoke, shame I cut the wing tip off.

The sad sight of concorde in prison as the A380 came past.

Just a few more, I thought would go ok.

Sadness, The last time I was at the viewing area, concorde came in for its last flight.

aaaah I saw the A300 and wondered what it was! Cheers for that! Great pictures!

Hi John , we was there today also , you managed to get better pics than I did , watched in come in from the road at the end of the runway , and then watched from the viewing area when it took off ,

Not bad John, I like number 2 with the fire trucks :) I was over the other side of the runway, and the taxiway there dips so got a 'rear' shot of the plane with no wheels :(

Sadly for me, the best shot is the last one John. The new A380 may be big, but beautiful it's not.;)
That should be Concorde still out there doing what it was designed for. :shake:

Have you not heard? There are a bunch of mad chaps doing 'a vulcan' with one of the French concordes :)

I heard a rumour on another forum but don't how long it will be before we'll hear it again over British soil?

It was in the news quite a bit.. but you do have a good point, can't see them wanting to share it very much :(

I would love it for concorde to be back in the air, I would do anything to get a seat on there. Some of the stuff that has been done to the others to get them to the museums and other places around the world is so sad they will never fly again.

A little game for you
Wheres Phil :)

Sorry for the link but I'm sure I'm not allowed to post 3767x503 images on here even with the new rules.

The view from the end of the runway , wanted to hear the noise , and was surprised how quite it was.
