Hi all,
Im having a go at getting abit closer to insects so have bought a coupling ring to reverse mount my nikon 35mm 1.8g onto my Sigma 105mm.
My first attempt at shooting almost completely put me off the idea, nothing but blurred images, super shallow DOF and the working distant to subject is super close!! As i cant set the aperture on the 35mm im using the blue tack hack to keep it wide open, but im not sure which focussing ring i should be using, the one on Sigma or the one on Nikon, or a combination of both. Diffraction seems to be an issue albeit i dont truly understand what diffraction is (image almost seems curvey???) or how to control it, have tried reading but it just blows my mind so advice on how to combat this would help. Im sure theres some maths / equations that you need to figure out but numbers were never my strong point.
