Aico macro tubes

hi bought a set of above on e=bay.Tried on a 40d with a 50mm1.8,30mm 1.4 and 28-75 2.8.Metering working but unable to change aperture and auto focusing .If i push the shutter down i get a message to clean contacts.
Do i attempt to clean the contacts or send them back for a refund?

Have you tried the tubes individually on the off chance that there's just one with a bad contact?

yes tried all possible combinations.Contacted the seller on there way back
