My efforts from a morning session with this stunning Long Billed Dowitcher that dropped in for a visit on a local pond from across the Atlantic.
Incredibly confiding and sometimes coming within a few inches of my feet to feed!

Cheers folks.
The plumage is much lighter and less `cryptic` looking if you know what I mean?Snipe have long dark stripes down the back where this hasnt.About the same size though.

I know it will never match Canon gear but I got to be honest I am more than happy with it.Before I bought it folk were saying that it will be soft at 500mm....mine lives at 500mm for 99% of the time and has done for the five years I have owed it.
Sure the barrel is scratched to buggery and the paint is peeling off the outside but the glass is crystal clear and I have no plans to change anytime soon.
