Hey all, hope you can help. I've had a request from a potential customer in Australia and they want to buy one of my images to put on canvas. He is being put off by shipping fees. So my thoughts are that I could get a company in Oz to produce the canvas and deliver direct to the customer. Anyone got any experience of canvas printers out in Australia?

id do a google on canvas printers australia (or even near his town, im sure theres a photography printing shop not far from them!), then google the printers names for bad publicity/issues and if all goes well, go with them. :)

Yeah been doing that but as with anything you seem to get very variable reviews

Have you considered asking on an Oz forum?

This one seems fairly big:

Good thinking, not sure why I didn't think about that.

City Cross Camera House in Adelaide do canvas prints on site.
They do a fair bit of pro work for a lot of wedding photographers and I use them for all my printing and have had some canvas prints done for clients at various times.
Their pricing is pretty good, and their quality and service is even better.

I wonder if they are related to http://www.cameraworld.co.uk/

Or did they just get lazy when choosing their company font and colours.

If you are worried about them having your hi-res image and reproducing it you could get it printed as a rolled canvas and send in a poster tube. That way he can get it framed over there. Shipping would be way cheaper.
