Yes
This is a coloured version of the heart nebula, but it's not the complete heart as I've not got all of the data yet. I thought I'd have a play first and see how it was looking at coming out potentially.

This is a total of 24 x 30 minute exposures and a few hours worth of processing as well!

This is approximately 7500 light years away in the constellation of Cassiopeia.

I saw this on Flickr and thought it was bloody brilliant then (y)
Having looked at it a second time, the "top right bit"
now looks like a "masked avengers face "
Flying almost diagonally across the frame :D

Thanks Russ, Chris and Drew.

@Russ - It's an astronomical mount, that is guided by a separate scope and camera, so that the stars stay in the same place all night. A rather nice telescope (Only 329mm) and an astro mono cooled camera. Filters are used to put colour into the image.

@Chris - Can't see it myself - It's still that man's bit!!!

The face is sideways on, he is wearing goggles,
and a cartoon type ear to ear smile :)
Oh and he has quite a prominent nose too :D
But thats OK if that's the way your mind works,
who am I to contradict you? :D

I still prefer playground humour Chris *snigger*

And indeed who doesn't Sara (y)
you can't beat the odd *snigger* now and again :D

Beautiful and amazing. It just makes my head hurt if I try and grasp what I'm looking at!
