Atlanta walk

1. Cutting off the top of the tower was a mistake IMHO. Some haloing too
2. I can see haloing. Very noisy. Needs more room to breathe uptop. It's also slightly askew. Look at the window frames, they're just off level with the horizontal plane. You need to line it up dead straight to pull this sort of thing off. When I say this it is minutely out but it caught my eye.
3. Needs just a bit more space to breathe.

I might have tried long exposures to add a bit more drama and the abstracty feel of these.

Agree with Steve. Don't worry, they are not awful and you are almost there.
Originally, I thought it was going to be 'Hot 'Lanta' by the Alman Bros

You will be surprised that I can take this sort of criticism....but I am pleased that it is very small stuff that I am missing out on and not the bigger items.

I had no chance of long exposures as I am not in possession of a ND filter yet,.....will be ordered.

BTW

1. There is not halo but in fact the output of the air con from the roof.
3. I was trying to capture the cramped nature of the buildings, hence why I was not letting them "breath".

Thanks all.

I very much like the angles you have chosen. For me having an eye for good composition is key because you can learn all the more technical stuff.

Try some more like these, taking account of the feedback you agree with and you will about be there:)

If you have photoshop you don't need an ND filter for long exposures, just use the image averaging technique. This works well and avoids noisy long exposures.

This guy has written an automated script to do the work for you.

Thanks for this but these are single images that were taken hand held, so this method will not work for me this time around.
