Barn Owl Centre Meet ... The Evidence

Here is another from me. think the over contrast /saturation of my others was because they were in Landscape setting. Have gone through them all again and they have certainly come up better than 1st ones.

Great set Chris (y) and I did  at Gizz in the spin drier

Thanks for you comments.

Just love Gizmo Chris and those feathers on the back of Ron are really great you can see why they are called Golden Eagles.
I think Leighton was a great Road Runner a more handsome form of the original though. It really did look like he was killing the posts before he landed. Great capyures all of them.

Awesome images(y)

I thought it was the first time most of you have attempted flight shots:eek:

This was the first time that I had attempted birds in flight and so it was mostly down to great tips and advice from you that I managed to get anything half decent.

Thanks once again to you and your staff for a great day out (y)

Pretty much Vince. So all the more credit to you and your staff for your / their help in "setting up" the shots (y)

(besides it bloody difficult trying to fly and get the pictures at the same time :D)

Nice ones Matt Love the long eared owl easy to see how they can stay hidden on a tree branch.
Takes a while to get through all our shots we took doesnt it.

Thanks - yes it is taking me a while, not helped by son's birthday this weekend too! :)

Nice set Matt
Long eared for me too (y)

Ive spent several days at the Barn owl centre with friends over the last couple of years as its just up the road from me and you couldnt want for more than the efforts Vince and his staff put in. I wish I had noticed there was a meet I would have joined you all, but I tend not to popst on here so frequently lately.
Lots of cracking shots from the day, good to see the Long eared owl putting in an appearance.

If that flippin' bird had been looking at you it would have been fantastic.

Cracking shot though .. (y)

Some people are never happy :D

Cheers Kev, It was actually just on its way to the "stick"
so looking for a touch down ;)

That is a very beautifull bird there Cobra. That stick was quite small for it to land on not suprised he had to look hard.
Well heres from me.

There are some very nice photos in this thread, but for me the best two are way back in post #1.

It would be great to go back in the autumn and get some evening light. I notice that you can have Vince and the birds to yourself for 5 hours. Only snag is that it costs £300

Thanks Les,
Cracking Goldie with the thistle, it has a real Scottish feel to it (y)

There was 8 of us and TBH we didn't loose anything by it.
Vince ( and his staff) were all very helpful in making sure everyone go the shots they wanted.
Get your self a little group, together, to spread the cost. you won't be disappointed :)

I have to second this, Ive been around 5 times with friends and each time has been brilliant, well worth the money, thoroughly enjoyable, different images due to seasonal changes and Vince/Juliette and co work so hard to ensure you get the light right and good shots - Vince isnt happy unless his customers are happy ;)
