I've never photographed any sort of wildlife/riverlife before. I actually went to get some nice riverscapes and waterfall over the weir but couldn't see a shot I liked so I saw these little blue things buzzing about so decided to capture some pics. Then a few swans and cygnets. Nice pleasant evening. I used a Nikon D7200 with a Nikon 300mm F4 prime, with it at F4 and the ISO up to 400 as these were quick little critters. Anyway, I'm aware the DOF is probably too shallow so please feel free to comment and critique.

You did waaaaay better with the little blue buzzing things…
real crazy iridescence but I wonder about the saturation
levels you tweaked in them, Jason.

very little . +7 I think. It was a lovely summer evening full of sunlight.

Very impressive images of the Damsel Flies, I had a hour or so trying to take some images at a local pond but got nothing as good as these.

actually they are demoiselles male banded demoiselles the other British species is the beautiful demoiselle -damselflies are smaller and dragonflies larger.

I did wonder after posting the comment if I was correct, looks like we both have learnt something. :)
