Can anyone identify these?
They have been sitting on a power line above a field that has seed flowers planted in the headland; I reckon there's around 3-400 of them flying around together, generally either down in the seed, on the wire or flocking around in an almost murmuration.
I've been assuming they're Chaffinches as they are also flocking in the lane I drive along but having finally got a long lens on them it would appear not, any ideas?
(sorry about photo quality)
