Don't be so sure. Car manufacturers have already been told by the European Court of Justice, to reduce the carbon footprint of their range of vehicles with almost immediate effect, when it had already been agreed they had until 2025.Are you arguing the timetable? They can't do it by 2025 the same reason why they can't stop it bluntly.
There is already talk of bringing the 2040 cut off date forward by 5 or even 10yrs.
