canon 1000D battery life ?

i knew i had taken a lot of photos at the sunderland airshow , what i didnt realise was i had taken 950 , and that was with IS on as well , i thought the batteries were only good for 5 - 600

I have the 1000D and I think it might depend on the quality of your shooting (e.g. RAW etc) and the weather (cold weather battery is used up quicker etc). I bought the battery grip (BG-E5) + a generic LP-E5 battery which is a worthwhile investment.

well it warm to be fair , all shots were RAW only , not sure if i would go with a grip if i can get that number of shots out of a battery , i forgot to add , the battery life indicator didnt move from full charge either
