i'm planning to buy the Canon 7D MkII but am aware that it introduced a new Canon raw version

I've got a 'standalone' version of Photoshop CS6 and have downloaded the latest Camera Raw 9.1.1 update from adobe:

BEFORE i buy the 7D mkII can i just check that my CS6 will be therefore able to recognise the images?

also how about PSE 10 - which i still use when i'm feeling lazy!

thanks!

The CR2 RAW files are!

The Canon 7D mk2 requires Adobe Camera Raw 8.7 or higher.
I believe that CS6 stops at version 9.1.1 of Adobe Camera Raw.

So as long as your version of CS6 is using ACR 8.7 or above then you will be fine to open the RAW files directly within.

The only caveat is that if you are still on Windows XP or Windows Vista then CS6 will only work up to ACR version 8.3

It will be written in the top bar of ACR when you open a RAW file (before it goes into CS6)
