Basically I'm shooting a music video and was thinking of investing in some stabilisation, I could go all in for the ronin or get one of the knock offs (although I know the ronin is also a knock off...) for about half the price- so just wondering if anyone had any experience of the Alexmos based gimbals?

I've got a Ronin-M, it's an awesome piece of kit, well worth the money if it's what you need. Not sure I'd go for a cheaper one which hasn't been tweaked and tuned and easy to use software etc.

I've a came 3 axis gimbal using alexmos, it's fidly to get to grips with the software and lots of trial and error, I must of spent a good few evening tweaking and the end results are amazing and once you start to understand the settings very adaptable, just get a light as you can that supports the camera, as long use can leave your arms getting tired quickly, good thing I found with Alexmos, YouTube is full of videos to help you set them up and doesn't take long before you start to understand it.
