First chance I've had at photographing the Lions with my new 100-400L. You can see a very subtle hint of the mesh fencing but not enough to ruin the images I think

Its a bloody nuisance isn't it?
Why do they have it? Huh?

Yes its there but not across the eyes or any other inappropriate place
The only real way totally "through it" is with a 2.8 wide open,
and that's not always fool proof

haha yeah, Lions are big softies and the fence just gets in the way...

An f2.8 would be awesome indeed but I think I'd need to dig a lot deeper down the sofa for that one haha.

Very nice set
Agree with Chris the first lioness portrait is excellent
I was there friday too I will have to sort my shots out and post them up
The lion enclosure is very difficult as you can't get close enough to the wire and the lions often sit close to the fence

Yeah, I apprecicate they need the distance with the fences but it would be nice to have an elevated platform perhaps
