I have to say I aspire to take such fantastic images.

I have two questions. Are these girls models or random women?
did you manage to achive these photos straight from the camera or is it fiddled in photoshop?

Paula & Claire are models. I did very little processing, spending less than 3 minutes on each photo.

Look at the colour of her skin in 3 and 4 then the others and you see what I mean

Thank you for your comments. I'm still learning how to use flash with portraits.

Are you shooting in RAW you can bring back some of the highlights then.
If you have Photoshop use the recover slider
You can get some back even if JPG but not much

My guess is you need off-camera flash with umbrella and underexpose the background a bit (I nearly got all bits for that and will post something shortly)

Number 3 is great, background is blurred just enough, can still see the environment but no destracting. Great set.
