Damaged Nikon 70-300 VR

Oh dear, slight mishap, with my Nikon 70-300. Took a bit of a knock and although it seems to be focusing okay, the VR is not working

Anyone have any idea of a likely repair cost?

I note that these are going for £220 - £230 2nd hand, so wondering if it is more cost effective to buy a used copy or send to the likes of fixation for repair?

Call fixation ask them for a quote. But gut feeling is that the repair will be more than the cost if 2nd hand lens. So might be worth while sell this one on fleebay and use that to get another...I have seen plenty of those VR not working ones get sold. Effectively you should still get around £70-90 for it as a non VR 70-300.
