Very nice Alastair. I must try Tebay out. I like the idea of not having to climb...

cheers, yea you should its great when its busy, there is still a climb but it is very short and up a concrete track. the warning can be minimal there, we were jumped by a tuc and a tonka as the motorway masks all the noise and birds can look VERY like aircraft as they float up the main feeding valleys on thermals and reflect the sun

At least the birds keep you on your toes.. What focal length do you shoot at up there Alastair?

i used a 300mm + 1.4tc on a 1.3x crop body and nothing overfilled the frame, tonkas came very close as they were parallel. i think 300 + 1.4tc on a 1.5 crop would be pretty good. if you want any advice about exactly where to go drop me a pm as its not the most obvious when you get over the hill and i was far too high to start with

Nice images, up with 617 Sqn in a few weeks, look out for them with some different big payload on.
