dead battery on Nikon D1H help please

My D1H arrived today with a completly dead battery, , was picked up from auction site seller had brought a job lot of stuff and this was not wanted.it's in good nick
but I have no charger and dont really want to spend nearly £40 ne a battery /charger set if camera is knackered,

does anyone have a spare I could borrow , buy etc. I live between Northampton and Milton Keynes
all postage will of coure be paid by me... I have looked on fleabay ,but if any of you know of some cheaper ones ....

For the cost of (legally!) sending a LiIon battery, you could probably pick up a universal battery charger like THIS. (Amazon link for illustration only, although they're also well priced!) I now take just the universal charger and use it for all my camera batteries as well as AA, AAA and USB powered devices.
