Anyone else ever get those really disappointing days where it's damp / dark and grey and nothing you do seems to bring the work to life? I had one of those last Saturday at Oulton Park, bad enough to consider wiping the card entirely - unfortunately it's not something I can do so I had to spend the day trying to make them work.

Anyway - here are a few of the okay'ish ones. Usual set up of 1Dmk4 70-200 2.8mkii / 1.4 mkiii extender.

#1 1/50, f/8, iso 100, 280mm the classic Oulton background

#2 1/500, f/4, iso 160, 280mm Yeah I meant to slide off in front of a group of trainee marshals, to help them obviously ;-)

#3 1/500, f/4, iso 160, 170mm what do you mean 'product placement'?

#4 1/100, f/5, iso 100, 160mm young Lucy showing the lads how it's done

#5 1/500, f/4.5, iso 800, 165mm jelly babies and a swig of Mr Muscle will knock anyone out for lunch

#6 1/500, f/4.5, iso 640, 140mm Sometimes a good smile is all it takes to make the world a better place!

I think you are being hard on yourself.. number 4 is a great shot. If the light is dull..then you can only make the best of the conditions on the day.

Great set! I was there on the same day and I have to agree. It was one of those days, wet, wild and windy. Oh and me wiping my card didn't help either ;-)

I think we've all had those days! You've still got a nice little set out of it though, No1 is a fine shot, but I'm partial to a bit of paddock/atmosphere, so its the last two that stand out for me.

Cheers,
David

Thanks guys, it's good to know it wasn't just me.

#1 is great for a shutter speed of 1/50th and I like the pov in #4, as there is a great sense of speed.

Sometimes I prefer the dull days, it means you don't have to worry about the position of the sun and maybe get to other parts of the track you wouldn't normally shoot at.

I think you've got a great set there and am pleased you didn't just scrub the cards. I particularly like number 4.
