I was shooting a nesting GCG hoping the eggs had hatched already.
No chance again today. On a twig behind the nest I saw this guy…
and yes, it is cropped at full and didn't care about the halo.

I would say that it is a White Tailed Skimmer

you should also see, if you are looking, it's close relative, The Black-Tailed Skimmer

Look at the segments in the tail, they are in sections, you can tell the ID from the colour.
