Drying Out

This large bird had just got out of the water and was drying his feathers out whilst belting out a Tarzan tune, great sound. Taken at Perth Zoo.

I do believe that's a cormorant(sp) - that's a common pose for them once they are wet. I don't think they are "waterproof" in the same way that a duck is, so they need to dry out before taking flight again.

A bit odd for a water bird!!
