My strategy for photographing birds on the fence at this part of the garden is to position myself near the feeder they use the most, making no attempt to hide. It tends to go quiet for a while and then their bellies and curiosity starts to get the better of them and they begin to land on the fence to reccy me out. :D

'Bugger - he's there again!'

'I wonder when he'll sod off? I'll pretend I can't see him.'

'Play it cool and have a stretch. Look at me - am I bovered?'

All at 700mm and 800 ISO

I'm really loving the 40D and getting a high hit rate of sharp shots.

Lovely shots CT ....They might get wise to your tactics and come mob handed soon...

Stunning as usual.

Think I like the second one best, almost like he's spotted you but isn't sure.

It must be great to have a garden with so many visitors. Actually it must be great just to have a garden! The closest I get is my grans but she only ever seems to get crows.

Youv'e caught this bird very well in three nice poses. Like them all. I bet the hard drive is getting quite full now with all these 'keepers'.;)

fantastic detail ct .

it seem's that the dunnock is the only friendly bird that does'nt take any notice of me when im in my hide?
many thanks
jason.

I've noticed this Jason. They do seem bolder than many of the others.
