Found a couple of female Emerald damsels at Pulborough Brooks RSPB reserve on Sunday and the largest cricket I have found so far - a gorgeous female Roesel's bush cricket that my husband saved from the pond it flew into (accidentally I would imagine lol).

Excellent. All good, but the last shot of the cricket stands out for me.

Once again you bring in the bacon with that Cricket shot ( last one)

I love it

Les :D

Love the cricket, amazed at the size - over 1" ! I also like the cheeky pose of the two damsels.

Nice shots. Interesting to see a long-winged form of the Roesel's.

Thanks again everyone for the nice comments - really appreciate them.

Re the long-winged form, I did read in one of my insect books that the long-winged form is only usually seen during hot summers, so maybe the very hot early spring accounts for this.

That was my thought.
I've seen a few Roesels around my area, I'll keep an eye out for long-winged ones now.
