you can get refillable carts from fotospeed and permajet iirc. both inks are quality items

Thanks will take a look

I purchased my empty 80 ml carts from Inkjetfly, these are great quality and fantastic value.

Ink manufactured by Image Specialists (USA) is top quality and hard to beat.

chubs380 (PrecisionColors) on ebay is the cheapest supplier based in Canada.
Octoinkjet is a UK supplier

The 3880 ink may not be listed so just choose ink for the 2880 (A3) printer

edit: check out Octoinks filler caps, these make life a lot easier, no messy syringes.

Thanks for your reply and links will follow them up

Apparently from what I have read you need the chip from the original Epson cartridge which you take off and then place it below the refillable cartridge chip and voila!!

I have been looking into third party carts and inks.

Stumbled across some of the sites mentioned, i'm awaiting a response from cone inks, seen a few recommendations for his inks.

It is a case of simply removing the original chip and applying to the new cart, the process seems fairly straight forward. A colleague uses a simliar system on a 3800 and he is happy with the results.

18%Grey reminded me of this, and if you go on to the Fotospeed website it also mentions it on the refillable carts page (PDF page) that the Epson carts need to be at least 10% full for them to work with third party cartridge chip although it also mentions that they may be able to provide a reset should this be necessary.
Also need to purge air out of cart based on this video

So cheapest method to change over to refillables is, I think, Inkjetfly refillable cartridges (even though you have to pay 40-50 dollars postage) then for ink probably Specialist Inks although I would go with either Fotospeed or Ink Express of Wolverhampton.

Thanks Matey

Apparently, the ink cartridges from here are £19 each but they do show the true ink level as the ink is used and reset themselves when you remove and reinsert the cartridge.....the OEM chip is still required
