Has anyone got a Tilopa or a Loka bag? Very interested to hear your thoughts on it if you have. Im looking for a new bag for sports, i.e. one that I can take mountain biking in some comfort, one I can take to the beach etc...

I'd also be interested to hear your thoughts on the ICU. I was considering a medium, but if this was the case, how much extra room is there once this is inserted?

Many thanks.

I'm sure Craikeybaby has a Tilopa for when he goes snowboarding. I'm sure there are some prettyy good user reviews on the web if you do a google search

This guy has written about it

check out Dan Carr's blog for some good info on the bags - specifically the new one, the Loka which looks to be a winner. I have some friends who have the bigger packs and I consider them a bit too big really.
I currently use a Burton zoom pro which is great - holds 2 pro bodies, 17-35, 24-70, 70-200 and a couple of primes no problem.

Great bag. Been using one for boarding and work photography for a few years now. Got too much kit now and need something a bit bigger. Still, like you say, two gripped bodies and five or six normal sized lenses fit nicely. :)

Hi

You are not likely to find any Loka reviews yet as not many folks have used it. I have used it a lot (I am the developer/designer) and mostly while snowboarding. It works really well for this type of photography. Also good for MTB but you are still packing a 37 Liter bag around... so don't expect a typical between the shoulders MTB pack.

I do not have any great images of the amount of space above but here is one of the early proto's(same size) with a medium ICU - http://tinyurl.com/2a8jks3

Also here is a link with a vector image of how the IUC's will fit (at the bottom) - http://fstopgear.com/en/product/mountain/loka

And just for my own spam sake and little trip I did last week with it. - http://tinyurl.com/29lxps5 I hiked over 15 hours in about 31 hours with it.

The bag has good range ;)

Let me know if you have more questions.

Ian

Mate of mine just started using a Loka and loves it for smaller outings, haven't tried one yet myself though.
I have been running around with a Tilopa and a Satori for a couple years, haven't even thought to look for anything else, best bags ever.
