Farne Island puffin portrait

Last week I spent a couple of great days on the Farne Islands. I've not got round to processing all the images yet but this was one of my favourites of the trip.

Taken with the D7000, 600 VR + 1.4x TC which allowed me to get real up close and personal!

Very much appreciated, thank you! I knew I wanted a tight head shot with sand eels in the beak and got lucky as I didn't get the shot I wanted until literally minutes before we left the islands for the final time - this was the last puffin I pointed my lens at on the trip!

Ian, no I was only there the Wed/Thur and thankfully the sea was pretty calm...handy seeing as I don't have very good sea legs lol
