A female banded damoiselle (i think) one of many from todays outing will process more after tea
maybe a beautifull damoiselle ?

Think folk just put beautiful in front of any damoiselle, dont think its an actual species

Been doing some research Beautiful Demoiselle (Calopteryx virgo) the difference is the female "beautiful" has brown wings

yeah but you can get Beautiful Azure, maybe Beautiful is referring to all females of all Demoiselle and damselflies

No it's not :nono:. The Beautiful Demoiselle is a seperate species to the Banded Demoiselle. Only these two in UK.

As far as I'm aware there is no UK species call beautiful azure. There's only the Azure damselfly - Coenagrion puella.

Of course they can all look beautiful.

It's definately a female Banded Demoiselle. As billybobb99 has alread stated the female Beautiful has brown wings. This one has green wings.

Theres none in the UK, think folk just use beautiful as thats what they are

there is a Beautiful Demoiselle, just never knowingly seen one you learn something every day
