Yes, I know, rather different sports but I was asked to shoot them for my university paper. First time really shooting sports and in all honesty I have no idea of the rules for each. Literally went from the netball game straight to fencing. Getting a fast enough shutter speed for the fencing with gym lighting was quite hard. Still, was quite fun to shoot. Let me know what you think guys!

some not bad efforts considering you have never shot sports before..
I must say though a little more care at the shooting stage and a little more effort with the editing would of improved these somewhat
as an examle shot 1 has no focal point at all and quite honestly is a not a great shot

shot 2 could do with leveling up and a slight crop

shot 3 has the light working against you and again cropping out some of the dead space at the top and side would make it look more dynamic

shot 4 is the pick of the netball shots but another one that would probably work better with a small crop

the 1st fencing one is good but needs leveling

2nd fencing shot is the pick of the whole bunch for me... but what a pity the fencers foot is missing - but I really like the angle and some nice blur of the background

the last 2 fencing ones are OK but dont really rock my boat so to speak.. far too messy backgrounds and clutter

sorry to not being very positive with these but just a little extra effort and thought would improve these no end
my 2p
cheers Chris

fencing is all about foot work, you really need to get the legs in the shots. If you thought foil was hard to capture try a real weapon like saber
